Over a past few years, Artificial Intelligence has been playing an indispensable role in our lives. But still it remains esoteric for a large group of people.
We, The members of ECTA (Electronics and Communication Engineering Technical Association) of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering hosted a Webinar on the topic 'Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, its applications and various libraries used' on June 13, 2020.
This webinar was delivered through the Google Meet platform by Mrs. Sreelakshmi Selvin who is an AI Engineer at Accubits Technologies Inc.
It was an interactive session where the participants got chances to clear their doubts on the topic for the last 30 minutes.
A total strength of 209 participants registered which included Students, Teachers and Employees. Out of that 100 participants successfully participated and another Session is to be hosted soon for the rest of participants and also for others who are interested. We would proudly say that this webinar came out to be a grand success.
We would like to thank Mohanan Sir, Azad Sir and all Staff members for coordinating our students efforts and guiding them to conduct this webinar. We would like to thank Sana, Anilesh and other Student Organizers who silently did all the background and publicity work which ensured this webinar was conducted smoothly and ensured satisfaction of participants.

Institution of Engineers (IEI), Students’ Chapter, Department of Civil Engineering, MESITAM conducted World Environment Day celebrations on 6th June 2020, Saturday at 10 am through the online platform, Cisco Webex. The programme started off with a two-minute silent prayer.
Prof. Abi Basheer.B, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering. One of the student members, Salma Saif presented the gathering with a beautiful poem “Oru thai nadam”.
Dr. J.Nazar, Principal, MESITAM gave the presidential address. The inauguration of the function was done by Dr.J. Ansari, ChiefScientist (CSIR-NIIST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The felicitation address was given by, Er. Rajan.K, Honorary Secretary, IEI Kollam.
The program also had two student members giving a thoughtful message on biodiversity, which was this year’s theme of the World Environment Day celebration. This was followed by an interactive technical session presented by Dr. J.Ansari explaining the various stages of Environmental Impact Assessment processes. The session also mentioned the current mining projects in India and their impact on the environment.
The esteemed presence of Prof. P.O.J Lebba, MES General Secretary, made the event more memorable.
As part of the environment day program, a Graphic Design Contest was also held. The presentation of the final participants was reviewed and the winners were announced by the contest judge, Mr. Ananthu A, Journalist, KalaKaumudi Daily.
The program ended on a good note giving the entire participant a different outlook on the importance of environmental conservation and biodiversity.

Institution of Engineers (IEI) , Students’ Chapter, Department of civil engineering ,MESITAM conducted a graphic design contest as part of the World environment day celebrations held on 6th June 2020 through the online platform cisco WebEx. Ajmal Hussain(S8 ME) , Aswin Shajahan(S6 CSE),Mohammed Shan(S8CE), Naja Fousi(S4 CSE) and Soofiya.N(S8CE) were selected for the final presentation. The presentations of the final five participants were reviewed and the winners were declared by the contest judge, Ananthu.A (journalist, Kala Kaumudi Daily).The winners were awarded ₹ 1,500(First prize) and ₹ 1,000 (Second prize). Ajmal Hussain got First place and Second Place was shared by Aswin Shajahan and Naaja Fousi.

✅ *RULES AND REGULATIONS*
⭕One participant can give utmost 1 entry.
⭕The participant must be an engineering student.
⭕Only the first 50 participants will be taken into consideration.
⭕The poster can be designed using any application of your choice.
⭕The poster must be designed based on the theme of 'world environmental day 2020'.
⭕The decision taken by the judges will be final.
⭕Entries must be sent along with proper contact details(email id, mobile no. & 'a clear photograph of your valid college ID'.
⭕Posters must be in image format.
⭕Entries without proper contact details particularly the 'PHOTOGRAPH OF COLLEGE ID' will not be assessed.
⭕Entries will not be accepted after the specified time period.
⭕Only 5 participants will be selected for the final round.
⭕ Final participants must convey the idea of their poster within a maximum of 2 minutes during the environmental day celebration which is to be held at an online platform on June 6th.
⭕Announcement of winners will be done on the same platform mentioned earlier.
⭕The cash prize will be provided through online transaction.
⭕ e-Certificates will be provided for all participants.
