World Standards Day Celebration 2025
The IEI Student's Chapter (Civil) of MESITAM, in association with The Institution of Engineers (India), Kollam Local Centre, celebrated World Standards Day 2025 on 14th October 2025 at the Department Seminar Hall. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sudhi Mary Kurian, Secretary, IEI Kollam Local Centre, highlighting the theme "Shared Vision for a Better World: Spotlight on SDG 17."
A technical talk on "Standardisation and Its Importance-A Walkthrough" was delivered by Mr. Anoop Surendran, Energy Technologist-B, Energy Management Centre. As part of the celebrations, a Quiz Competition held on 13th October saw participation from 15 teams, with Mr. Muhammed Ihsan & Ms. Summayya winning first prize and Mr. Alameen & Ms. Bismi securing second place.
The event emphasized the importance of standardization in achieving sustainability and fostering innovation among students.

BACK TO THE ROOTS - BATCH ONE
Civil Department, MESITAM organized an online interactive session, with their first batch of students( 2009-13 batch) through google meet on 28 th September 2025 at 7.30 pm with the objective of reconnecting the students with their Alma mater, strengthening professional networks, and fistering long term relationship between Alumni and faculty members. The session started with a silent prayer mourning the departed soul of Saira Haris (A student from the same batch) Around 30 alumina from India and Abroad,Mesitam management team and faculty members actively participated in the session. The Alumni expressed their excitement on reuniting after a pretty long time. They shared their campus memories,insight of their career journey and the challanges they faced and strategies of success.
The session ended on a pleasent note.
